Teeth lightening is becoming all the rage among folk who had to at one point get by with yellow teeth. Even if your teeth wouldn't be defined as yellow, the teeth lightening procedures used today can make a large difference for you and they're not just about as expensive as they used to be.

When you have white teeth you've got a mouth that is fresh and healthy. There are a range of ways to whiten the teeth. For home use you may use a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to clean your pearly whites or purchase an over the counter whitening kit that is hydrogen peroxide in a gel formula or the dentist can give you an additional strength bleaching gel. Both of these gel methods use formed teeth trays that are kept in the mouth for 30 or more mins. Or you will choose an in office teeth whitening treatments using laser techniques. Before a dentist will approve you for a laser procedure or the gels that can only be obtained from a dentist office, you will be required to undergo a dental examination.

The teeth whitening process can take anywhere between a month to a number of months depending on how discolored your teeth are and how much treatment, they can take, according to your dentist. Once the specified level of whiteness is attained, maintenance re-application is suggested to keep the teeth from discoloring again. It is common for the gums to become a tiny delicate in the bleaching process, however extended use without dental supervision is not counseled.
